Things Are Getting Busier

So there's a lot happening at the moment and we're really trying to keep on top of everything.
First off we're really excited about a small wedding fayre that we're organising.
For anyone who knows East Kilbride it will be held at the coffee shop at James Hamilton Heritage Park. The shops called Gracies on the Loch and it's a great place for a small event.
More details to follow but we're getting a lot of interest from the right local companies at the moment, and we want the best, most reliable and professional local companies we can find to attend.

Also for any technofiles out there. The website now has it's own iPhone friendly website mirroring the flash site, just click on the main website from your iPhone and check it out.

Lastly, the first couples have now been granted access to their own website creation tools and the feedback thus far seems to be good. So I'll be rolling it out to my other clients shortly. Some really good ideas coming from the customers so can't wait to see what everybody else can do with the tool.

More New Stuff

And the good stuff keeps on coming.
Just created a dedicated GO4 website for I phones.
So if you've got an i-phone, and as we all know you can't use flash applications on them :-( then just click on the website as normal and you'll get a dedicated i-phone site.
Client websites seem to be going down a treat with people so looking forward to seeing what all my customers can create.

New Feature - Your Own Website

Blogging obviously isn't my thing, however just thought Id update the blog as I just wanted people to know about a really cool new feature that I'm giving to all my prospective couples. Their own personal website. They'll have full control over it with their own personal web address to give out to their friends and family.

It could become a really useful tool for the couple to be, they can update wedding plans on there for people to see, get people to post messages, the possobilities are endless.

More info to follow.........(I promise!)

The perils of wedding photography is being so busy that you forget to keep your blog updated.
I'm sure some people will agre with that. Well just finished a really busy period of weddings and thankfully have a couple of quiet weeks to catch up on all the weddings. I've also just re-designed the intro page to the web site, I hope you like it. All comments (good or bad) will be gratefully received. Next issue I'm going to approach is Vimeo. Anyone had any dealings with them? All comments appreciated.

Wedding Day

Morning,

Just prepping for todays wedding and looking forward to this one, something tells me Alison is going to be the life and soul today.

Quick mention about the web site, 2 new features now available and one that I'm really excited about. The new client viewing and proofing page, you'll now be able to view your photographs in full hi-res quality so no more tiny photographs to look at, just glorious full screen images.

The new shopping cart facility is now also active with a host of new features including bundled discount packages, so please ensure that you look at the packages as you may save some money.

Well time to fire up the Nikons and go and get ready.

Have a nice day everyone...............

New Website Stuff

So I've been har at work the last couple of days setting up a new viewing system and purchasing system for the website to make it easier for clients to purchase photographs and copies of the wedding DVD slideshow. It's a lot more pleasing to the eye than the old system and I'm sure you guys are going to like it too. Carrie and Michael are the first wedding to ne using the system so I hope that you it enjoy it.

We'll also be introducing paypoint very shortly which will make it far easier to purchase goods instead of paypal, which I know that some people have issues with.

Wedding tomorrow at the Crutherland in E. Kilbride so really looking forward to that and fingers crossed for the weather..........

Ashtastic

Poor old Carrie and Michael from a couple of weeks ago, stuck out in Turkey and can't get home. I hope the holiday company is looking after you guys. Well as we discussed last night, your DVD is ready and I'll get it all ripped onto a disc for you and sent up ASAP so you've got something good to look forward to when you get home.

I've also got a couple coming over from Bermuda in 2 weeks who are getting married at Discovery Earth in Edinburgh, I hope this volcano runs out of steam (erm....ash) by then.

Also a quick mention for Leigh who I met today, really nice to meet you and am looking forward to your wedding already......

Dates are coming through now for wedding fayres that we'll be attending later in the year so if any prospective clients should be reading this then please don't be stranger and come along and say hello.

H.A.L.

Met Jeanette and Martin @ HAL (House for an Art Lover) yesterday. Really lovely couple and I can't wait to shoot the wedding. No photographer on the face of the planet would run short of material at that venue!!!

Just getting everything ready for this weekends wedding at the moment.

Really must get more memory cards (note to self).

EDINBURGH CASTLE

Hello all, still recovering from my Edinburgh Castle caught flu from the weekend wedding.
Congratulations to Carrie and Michael and I hope the honeymoons going well.
If you do read this then I'm working hard as I type on your images.
Got to say though - that gatehouse suite was (how shall I put it) a real challenge to photograph in.
I loved the piper Ian Gordon, he was a wee bit scary though when he charged me!!!!
The photos will reveal all.....

Off to House for an Art Lover tomorrow to meet Jeanette and Martin so looking forward to that.

And just completed the pre wed shoot with Alison and Richard at Chatleraux which was a nice evening.

Ahhh well back to work......

Training

Quite excited now, got a good deal with the Annabel Williams crew for a course in March so looking forward to that. 3 day course - All About Weddings.

Still got my brain going in overdrive over this blinkin' Blu-ray disc project and trying to run it in conjunction with Proshow....ahhhhhh!!!!!!!

Whatever Pro show tell you about it being all singing and all dancing is rubbish.
This DOES NOT work with 64 bit versions of Windows 7

Flip a dee doo dah

Finally managed to get the flip page album sorted out - hurrah.
Check it out on the website under Wedding Album Example.
PS anyone wanting one for the website (for free!!!) I managed to get a Picasa template from a dutch guy and then uploaded it to my webspace (simples!!), if anyone wants to know more then drop me a line.

Next problem - can't send .exe files via Gmail, live, hotmail, virginmedia etc etc etc etc so have just found a free file sharing site desigined to be for private use only, quite cool. www.rapidshare.com

Have also just taken out an ad in the Glasgow Girls Wedding Guide so hope to be getting some traffic coming my way from that soon enough......

That's it I'm starting to get bamboozled now with Page FLIP websites.
Thanks to the person who mailed me yesterday, but I'm still wading through them all.

Good to get back to the home town.....

Quick update.....

That's me just had a great weekend away for my sisters 30th.
At last no more cheap quips from her about being in her twenties......
Nose to the grindstone now, just going through the e-mails and a few good wedding enquiries to answer.
Just checking out the best way to insert a page flip demo of a wedding album, anyone got any advice??

PS anyone thinking of booking up for 2011 then I'd advise to do so before the end of February as the prices will be going up!!!!!

The Blog Strikes back

Hi all,

Been a really busy time over the last couple of months getting ready for the new wedding season, re-branding and getting the new exhibition stand ready. Oh yeah and getting the new puppy yesterday, pics included. So I'm now going to keep my blog up to date - promise.

2010 weekends are now filling up fast which is good news with a few 2011 dates trickling through.
Hopefully this is the turn around in everyones fortunes that we've all been promised!

On a parting note I'd just like to thank everyone who helped at Braehead last weekend, I think we can all say it was a big success. I'd also like to thank everyone who booked us at Braehead and looking forward to sharing your big day with you in the future, don't be strangers an do keep in touch.
